1/7/2024 0 Comments Endless sky coalition missionsYou will most likely speak to the other humans about this (who will be divided on the course of action), the Wanderers (who will show deep respect for the Pug's views, but be unwilling to actually engage in a fight), and the Korath (the Kor Efret will show some dislike for the Quarg, but be unwilling to fight, while the other Korath will agree to help out), either after or before speaking to the Pug. Initially, they will pour scorn on the stupid human for its feeble attempt at standing up against the Quarg, but once they learn of the Coalition's involvement and past success (unless, of course, they already know) they will realise that a concerted effort across the galaxy could really lead to an end to the Quarg's rule. At some point someone will decide more help is needed, and after learning of the Pug (unless they've met before) you will head to one or more Pug planets to chat about the upcoming revolution. They will probably be tricky as usual, but will have their own motives for getting rid of the Drak and Quarg, and will send you back to the Coalition to discuss battle plans. After some discussion, they will learn of the Unfettered Hai and send you to talk with them. Most likely they will be unwilling to do so, and you will return to the Coalition empty-handed. I suspect that further missions would start with members of the Coalition sending the player to talk with the Hai about the prospect of rising up against the Quarg. Another (more convincing) possibility is that both the Coalition and the Unfettered Hai have met with a third civilisation which influenced their ideas (probably the Pug as they also show contempt towards the Drak and Quarg). However, the Coalition don't seem to know about the Hai until the player explains, although they might have been unable to make the link between the Hai before they lost their major empire and the Hai today. Given the strange similarity between what the Unfettered Hai and the Coalition have to say about the Drak and Quarg (almost using the same phrasing), it seems quite possible that they either have met before (the Hai say they controlled many worlds 'beyond the wormhole', somewhere the Coalition might have access to). There are no wormholes in the area of the galaxy they inhabit or any other evidence of Coalition control beyond this area There doesn't seem to be any evidence of contact between the Coalition and any other races apart from the humans and the Quarg Earlier in the story, the Quarg were seen to prevent humans from learning about their advanced alloys, and were very cryptic when approached about the Sheragi They seem keenly interested in how humans were not stopped from meeting the Hai by the Quarg The Unfettered Hai said much the same thing about the Drak they said that they were prevented from conquering more worlds as the Drak decided that they belonged to either the humans (well before they had even invented the wheel) or the Sheragi (now extinct), who hadn't yet discovered those worlds They claim that the Quarg try to keep species in separate boxes, limiting their technological advancement (in particular preventing other species from gaining access to jump drives) Captured Quarg ringworlds can be found in a couple of places They claim to have driven the Quarg out of their systems They claim to have been at war with the Quarg in the past They seem to have encountered humans before since they have developed translator devices Their combat ships are pretty strong (coming close to Quarg strength), and the Heliarch Punisher has the highest hull strength in the game They have pretty advanced technology their active cooling is extremely space-efficient and their other outfits are among the bast in the galaxy They control 63 worlds in 71 systems (assuming I can count) The 3 races seem to get along pretty well (better than humans with other humans) They claim to be much stronger when united The Coalition is an alliance of 3 races, the Saryds, the Kimek and the Arachi. Here's what we know so far (it may not be entirely accurate or all-inclusive): I get the feeling that The Coalition may have a major part to play in the future storyline, so I thought I'd start a discussion of what the future may hold for them (and us).
